About
About
QV L is located at the mouth of the Valley of the Three Pits, a small distance away from the group QV A through QV J. It consists of a rectangular shaft leading to a rough, undecorated burial chamber. The owner of the tomb is unknown.
The tomb was explored by Georges Daressy (1895), who found that it had already been looted. The Theban Mapping Project surveyed the tomb in 1981, but could not map it. QV L was last excavated and cleared by the Franco-Egyptian Mission in 1989-90. It belongs to a group of 18th Dynasty tombs (QV A- QV J) that were all constructed under the reign of Thutmes III for elite officials and members of the royal court. The Franco-Egyptian Mission recovered several objects from the tomb, including wooden Sarcophagus fragments, leather sandals, uninscribed canopic fragments, and fragments of jewelry. The exact location of QV L has since been lost as the entrance was naturally reburied.
