Nekhbet
A female deity either depicted as a vulture or as a woman wearing a vulture headdress. She was first worshipped in El-Kab, a city in Upper Egypt, and then became the national goddess of the area. Together with Wadjet (cobra) as the goddess of Lower Egypt, they became the symbolic animals for the two halves of Egypt and were adopted as royal insignia and embodiments of the two royal crowns.
