Formerly known as the the Egyptian Antiquities Service and the Egyptian Antiquities Organization. It is technically a separate institution from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (formerly the Ministry of Antiquities). It oversees all archaeological sites, archaeological excavations, conservation works, the administration of Egyptian museums, and other related activities in Egypt.
